Armando Trovajoli has written one of his best scores of his long artistic relationship with director Scola: a mixture of Funky, Pop (mainly represented by a cool song sung by Schola Cantorum) and very sad, romantic music themes performed often by harmonica, choir and orchestra that oppose all the grotesque, dark side of the story made of sad misfortunes only. This score appears for the first time on CD digitally restored/remastered from the original RCA stereo album master tape, including an inedit alternate take of the main theme song, all approved by M°Trovajoli himself.
