Kronos Records - Limited Edition of 300 units
CAPTAIN JOHN SMITH AND POCAHONTAS is 1953 American historical western film directed by Lew Landers. It tells the story of the hardships, love and treachery in the Jamestown colony as narrated by Captain John Smith at the court of King James I to the King himself in 1607. Will Captain John Smith overcome the treachery of some of his men and resentment of the local Native Americans and establish the colony of Jamestown. The film starred Anthony Dexter in the lead role of Captain John Smith, Jody Laurence as Pocahontas, Robert Clarke as Rolfe and Alan Hale Jr. in the role of Fleming.
The music was written by prolific and sadly overlooded composer ALBERT GLASSER, composer of Viking Women And The Sea Serpent, Motorcycle Gang, The Big Caper, Cop Hater, The Monster Maker, The Cisko Kid Returns, The Gay Amigo, Grand Canyon and many more others, who composed a ver dramatic score, full of melody and sweepeing themes, along very intriguing suspence action cues. A true gem that was previously never released in any format.
