Retraçant l’histoire de l’une des plus grandes collaborations de l’histoire du cinéma, ce coffret 3CD+DVD sort à l’occasion du 85ème anniversaire de John Williams et célèbre ses 43 ans d’amitié avec Steven Spielberg, définie par son impact phénoménal sur la pop culture.
Depuis le thème emblématique des Dents de la Mer à celui d’Indiana Jones, en passant par celui d’E.T. L’Extra-terrestre, John Williams a composé pour plus de 25 projets de Steven Spieberg et a réussi comme aucun autre à faire pénétrer la musique de ces films dans l’inconscient collectif. Et son travail s’est vu récompensé : sur 50 nominations de John Williams aux Academy Awards (plus que n’importe quel autre compositeur), 17 d’entre-elles étaient pour des films réalisés par Steven Spielberg.
Ce coffret contient 75 minutes de nouveaux arrangements spécialement enregistrés pour cet album ainsi que le documentaire DVD The Adventure Continues, filmé en octobre 2016, sur la collaboration de ces deux artistes majeurs aux carrières intimement liées.
